5 Best Current TV Characters

So EW did a list of their 25 best characters on TV right now. I will list out the characters that made the cut for you to see. I also decided to go one step further and pick my favorite 5 of those listed. This was way harder than I anticipated but first here are the 25 in no particular order:

1.  Frank Underwood – House of Cards

2.  Selina Meyer – Veep

3.  Sherlock Holmes – Sherlock

4.  Alison Hendrix – Orphan Black

5.  Arya Stark – Game of Thrones

6.  Mindy Lahiri – The Mindy Project

7.  Ichabod Crane – Sleepy Hollow

8.  Mellie Grant – Scandal

9.  Diane Lockhart – The Good Wife

10. Sophia Burset – Orange is the New Black

11. Roger Sterling – Mad Men

12. Ron Swanson – Parks & Recreation

13.  Adam Sackler – Girls

14. Tina Belcher – Bob’s Burgers

15. Stephen Colbert – The Colbert Report

16. Ilana Wexler – Broad City

17. Captain Ray Holt – Brookly Nine-Nine

18. Sterling Archer – Archer

19. Boyd Crowder – Justified

20. Phil Dunphy – Modern Family

21. Louie C.K – Louie

22. Sue Heck – The Middle

23. Phillip Jennings – The American

24. Norma Bates – Bates Motel

25. Erlich Bachman – Silicon Valley

Ok, so those are the 25. I tried to decide what to base my criteria on. How great the character is being portrayed? How much I like the character? Who evokes the most emotion from me? Who is most enjoyable? I still came to no conclusion but these are the characters that stood out to me and I guess are my 5 favorites from the list (no particular order):

The menacing Frank Underwood from House of Cards

The bad bitch in charge in the formerly known as Lockhart & Gardner, Diane Lockhart

This has nothing to do with the fact that I am a Cumberbitch. This really is a fascinating character to watch. I mean who else can deliver a speech like the one found here – http://www.taynement.site/sherlocks-best-man-speech/

Roger Sterling is the comedic relief on an otherwise quite serious “Mad Men”. He refuses to grow up and it’s a delight for us to watch.

We’ve watched this tom boy grow as she faces tragedy upon tragedy. Arya Stark is a favorite of many on Game of Thrones.

So there’s my 5. It was a tough call. Some, I have to admit didn’t make it because I don’t watch the shows. Some of my runners up were Phillip Jennings, Alison Hendrix and Mellie Grant. Who would make your list? whether on this list or not?
