The 90th Oscars have finally come and gone and surprisingly, I enjoyed them. If you follow me, then you have most likely heard me whine about the Oscars being boring but it wasn’t so terrible this year, besides the predictable wins. Jimmy Kimmell was a decent host and I enjoyed him. There were a lot of montages and a lot of filler activities (surprising people at a nearby theater).

My favorite moment was the montage about diversity and inclusion and Kumail Nanjiani had the best quote:

”Some of my favorite movies are movies by straight white dudes, about straight white dudes. Now straight white dudes can watch movies starring me, and you relate to that. It’s not that hard. I’ve done it my whole life.” Loved the sign language during the speech for The Silent Child win and Frances McDormand shut it down with her passionate speech to include a diversity rider. The Best Song nominees didn’t bring their A-game in the live performances and Shape of Water took home best pic.

That was the summary of the show, no big shakeups and it was PC for the most part, To the fun part, here are some of the looks that I thought were best:

I am a fan of Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet and this was no exception
Looking like Gal Gadot’s sister, Sandra Bullock looked amazing. 53 looks good on her!
Looking like the award herself. Lupita owned the carpet, looking like a vision.
A simple white dress but I thought it looked good on Margot Robbie
I could not believe this was Jennifer Garner. Good on her.
Can’t explain it but I really liked Greta Gerwig’s dress on her.
Betty Gabriel looking like a snack
The dress is not for everyone but for Nicole Kidman, it works
