Ed Sheeran – X (pronounced Multiply)
The first single of this album was “Sing”. It was so left field from his usual music that I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I have to say that this was such a good album. Dare I say, my favorite album of the year so far. It has a mix of everything. Groovy beats, lovely ballads and a little soul. Heck, he raps in one or two songs lol.
Sam Smith – In the Lonely Hour
This album is an album of heartbreak and despair. Thankfully, it’s a blessing to our ears. With his really high octave and heartfelt songs. He joins the Brit Invasion army in feeding us good music.
Sia – 1000 Forms of Fear
Huge fan of the old Sia before she crossed into the pop world. She has written some of the biggest hits in recent times. Her single, “Chandelier” could easily be a Rihanna song. I was a bit let down by the album but to be fair I have only listened to it once, more listens might change my mind.
Adaku – Plasma
This young lady taught herself to play guitar and finally released her debut album. Chockful of R&B songs that are relatable to anyone that has seen the beginning and end of a relationship. Plus, you get to support a Nigerian sister 😀
Trey Songz – Trigga
I know a bunch of people who are turned off by his explicit lyrics but I do like his songs. The album was enjoyable. The usual same old with catchy lyrics and choruses and some features that include Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj.
