Still trying out the audio format, this time with our watercooler show, #Insecure. I thought it would be fun to briefly share some of my thoughts on the finale.
I’m still a learner, so I forgot to expand on why I didn’t want Lawrence and Issa together. While I do like Lawrence, this might sound weird to say but I find him chaotic. Not in the most obvious way. Something about him just doesn’t exude peace, he always seems unsettled and we all know Issa has enough of that on her own.
I don’t want to over beat the topic of Condiment suddenly wanting to keep the baby when she mentioned she didn’t want kids earlier but I know the reality is that, it is possible to change your mind when it is actually a reality vs. hypothetical. Overall, I did think it was a lazy story line that was obvious when she called him a 100 times two episodes ago.
Everyone has called out how it is very similar to the The Game storyline (which Jay Ellis was in at some point) and I know Insecure is better than that. I realize they needed something majorly disruptive but it really could have been him moving and Issa not wanting long distance.
Let me know your takes because you can never get enough Insecure takes!
