I honestly don’t think there is anything I can say that will describe this show accurately. But in these times of chaos and uncertainty, #TigerKing is the distraction that you need to binge ASAP.
Joseph Maldonado-Passage aka Joe Exotic is a zoo keeper in Oklahoma, that contains loads of tigers, lions and [big] cats. An eccentric guy who is also gay, Joe puts on a show regardless of what the occasion is. The show introduces us to him being accused of an alleged murder for hire plot to kill Carole Baskin, who owns Big Cat Rescue, an organization that lobbies to kill operations like Joe’s that breed big cats.
With the rise of podcast adaptations, this is yet another one where directors, Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin hit the jackpot on this one. Just when you think you are clued in on one story line, yet another twist and turn occurs and you are like whaaa? We see how cat owners seem to have their own cult like situation, they manage to get a suicide on security cam (they don’t show it but you see the reaction of a witness), we get a backstory on what of the characters that had me like what in the world?
Like I said earlier, no words of mine will do this justice but head on over to your Netflix and get to watching!
